17/03/2024

Zandvoort is increasingly becoming an art village and this is clearly reflected at Zandvoort Art 2023: it becomes more beautiful and more extensive every year! On October 14 and 15 from 12:00 to 17:00 you can visit more than 20 locations with around 60 artists. From Zandvoort, but also from Haarlem and Heemstede and even from Rotterdam and South Limburg. In this blog I highlight a number of artists that appeal to me and that I will definitely take a look at myself! At some locations you can also have a coffee. More information about all participating artists, the program and locations can be found at: www.zandvoortart.nl. ENTRY IS FREE.

Grace Spiegel lives in Zandvoort and has her studio in Heemstede. She uses charcoal on vintage linen to create faces inspired by Asian art. Her beautiful poetic work can now be seen at various art fairs and galleries in the Netherlands and abroad, for example in Ibiza, Marbella, Copenhagen and Paris. And perhaps you have also seen it hanging at Côte in Heemstede. During Zandvoort Art her work hangs in the Agatha Church.

SEA BEASTS BY PAUL JANSEN

Paul Jansen was born, raised in Zandvoort and a real surfer. He has been making woodcarved sculptures, such as totem poles and tikis, for years. Paul is best known in Zandvoort for his 'sea creatures' and 'surf art', inspired by the ocean, waves and surfing. You may have seen his work at various beach pavilions, such as Tijn Akersloot, Ohana Beach and Outpost. During Zandvoort Art you can visit him in his studio in the Red Cross building or at Tijn Akersloot.

MIRROR THROUGH IRIS PLANTING

Iris Planting has lived in Zandvoort for a few years and has her studio in Heemstede. Iris is best known as a photographer of big names in fashion, music, sports and politics. For her own art project Spiegeling, she combines everything that grows and blooms in the dunes and near the sea with her passion for the human body. She thus captures two images in one changing image. This special technique allows you to see a transformation from nature to humans. Her work can be seen in the annex of the Protestant Church.

SABRINA FROM I SEA YOU

Sabrina from I Sea You is an art and portrait photographer. In her work she explores the connection with nature and tries to interact with it on a deeper level through her work. She hopes to inspire others to see, appreciate and care for our beautiful nature. During Zandvoort Art her work can be seen in the Old Town Hall.

DAY BIRDS BY ROGIER CORNELISSE

Cora Klijn paints what she likes, especially colorful portraits. A few months ago she opened her shop Reloved in Haltestraat. IRENE BERNHARDT AT WINE BY THE SEA

ZandvoortArtIrene 1920w

Irene Bernhardt photographs the anonymity of man in his natural habitat; at home, on the street in nature. Her photos show people in motion and in a dynamic way but with distance. Blur and movement create atmosphere in her photos. Her work can be seen at Wijn aan Zee on Stationsplein, which is also a nice location to have a glass of wine.

WORKSHOP 'T SCHELPJE BY RICK KOPS

Zandvoort Art Atelier 1920w

Rick Kops has lived in Zandvoort since September 2022 and is inspired by his surroundings. For example, he recently painted 'The Heartbeat of Zandvoort' on a building on the Buureweg, see photo below. During Zandvoort Art you can take a look at his studio at Schelpenplein 19.
